Teaching Assistant

Crowthorne C of E Primary School

Dukes Ride, Crowthorne, Berkshire, RG45 6ND

We are currently looking to expand our amazing team of support staff here at Crowthorne C of E Primary School, a one-form entry primary school with 210 pupils aged 4 to 11.

We would be interested in receiving applications from candidates who would like to join our friendly, caring and supportive team. We are particularly looking for someone to work in our Reception class, supporting children with additional needs. However, a flexible approach and willingness to support children across the primary age range, individually, in small groups and providing whole class teaching assistant support is welcomed.

We are proud of the positive ethos in our school and of everything we offer to our school community, inspiring all to live life to the full and achieve all they are able to. We were graded Outstanding in all areas by Ofsted in February 2025 and have a culture of continual improvement. There is an ethos of mutual support and encouragement amongst staff, with a full induction programme offered as well as on-going training.

Hours are term time only. Up to 31hrs 15mins per week: 8.30am – 3.15pm

BG J 3 – 6 (Starting at £12.85 per hour + London Fringe Weighting.)

This is a temporary position for one year with the possibility of becoming permanent, depending on funding and need in the school. Ideally, we are looking for a full-time member of staff but would consider part-time, at a minimum of 4hrs per day.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a positive, flexible approach and attitude
  • Be a hard-working individual, prepared to support all children to be the best they can be
  • Be able to use a variety of strategies to engage, support and motivate children in their learning
  • Have an understanding of the Early Years curriculum, including phonics, and how to support children’s learning through play
  • Have experience of successfully supporting children with additional needs, using a range of strategies to enable children to develop academically, emotionally, socially and behaviourally
  • Have a desire to be involved in all aspects of school life
  • Have a good standard of literacy, numeracy and IT skills

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed. Our School Ambassadors regularly conduct guided tours. You will find our children polite, hard-working and well-behaved. They enjoy their learning and are, understandably, very proud of their school.

If you would like to discuss the role, please contact the school office on 01344 772089.

Applications will be considered upon receipt.

The school reserves the right to close this advert once sufficient applications have been received.

Final Closing Date: 11:59pm Sunday 10th May

Interviews to be held: Monday 18th May

Start Date: 1st September 2026

End Date: 31st July 2027 but with the possibility to extend the temporary contract or become permanent, depending on need within the school and funding.
