Required from September 2026, we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and organised Cover Supervisor to join the staff of our outstanding school.

The Cover Supervisor’s role involves the delivery of work which is set for students in the case of their usual teacher’s absence.  This is not a teaching position but the Cover Supervisor is expected to ensure that students remain on task and complete work to the best of their ability.  There are also additional administration duties in curriculum areas to perform if the cover supervisor is not needed to cover absent colleagues.

Ranelagh has an excellent reputation at local and national level.  The last inspection by Ofsted in 2024 judged us to be outstanding in all areas.  This was our fifth outstanding report and, whilst we are very proud of this achievement, we are in no way complacent.   In addition to excellence in terms of academic outcomes, our purpose is to provide a supportive, stimulating and secure environment in which young people can thrive.  As such, we seek to employ inspirational and energetic staff, committed to the school’s ethos.  In return, we aim to provide opportunities for continuing professional growth and development for all staff, beginning with a well-established induction.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, confident and well- organised and share the school’s commitment to help all students to achieve their full potential. We are looking for someone who possess a high level of initiative and the skills to deal with challenging situations. Potential candidate should also need to have had some experience of working with young people, preferably in an educational setting.

This post may suit someone who is considering a career in teaching or a Teaching Assistant or Higher Level Teaching Assistant looking for a career progression. It offers the opportunity to work in a wide range of subject areas across the curriculum. Ranelagh enjoys links with the Reading University and the Bracknell Forest Secondary School Training Partnership, supporting the training of working with young people, preferably in education.

Ranelagh School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. All staff employed in the school must be aware that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check will be undertaken.

If you are interested in learning more about the position, please contact the Headteacher via, the School Office on 01344 421233 or by emailing recruitment@bonitas.org.uk
